Karanka back at the helm after storming out on Middlesbrough

Aitor Karanka has resumed his managerial duties with Championship club Middlesbrough.

The Spaniard last week relinquished his duties at the Riverside Stadium after claiming that the players don't share his desire to achieve promotion to the Premier League.

Karanka was not involved with the first team in the 2-0 defeat to lowly Charlton Athletic on Sunday.

However, following talks with the Teesside club on Monday, Karanka has agreed to resume his charge at the club.

The club released a statement on Monday evening: "Middlesbrough Football Club can confirm that Head Coach Aitor Karanka will be resuming first team duties with the club with immediate effect.

"We have 10 games left this season and as a club we are fully focused on what remains of our Championship campaign."
