Newcastle Jets have pulled off a major coup by re-signing young gun Ben Kantarovski.
The 18-year old Australian youth international has committed himself to the Jets' future by signing a new three-year deal, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2013/14 A-League season.
Kantarovski, who won the Jets Player of the Year award for the 2008/09 season, was delighted to have secured his near foreseeable future with the club he loves.
"I'm a home-grown boy and I love playing in front of our home fans," Kantarovski said yesterday.
"We are building really well as a team and there is a great feeling around the place."
Jets coach Branko Culina was full of praise for Kantarovski.
"Ben's a young man with an enormous amount of talent," Culina said. "He's the captain of the Australian under-20 team and that just shows how well regarded he is in Australian football."
