Kansas City Wizards sign Jamar Beasley

Jamar Beasley has signed with the Kansas City Wizards the club has announced.

The 30-year old has been on trial with the Wizards for the past two weeks but is now an official part of the playing roster.

Wizards head coach Peter Vermes says although Beasley has spent most of the last 7 years playing indoor soccer, he believes the former New England Revolution and Chicago Fire man can eventually bring a lot to the table.

"Although he's coming from indoor (soccer), he's got some qualities than can help us," said Vermes. "He's a left-footed, left-sided player, he's quick and he also can finish.

"He probably, right now, has about 15 minutes in (him) at the MLS level so it's going to be a couple of weeks.

"I can't predict exactly when he's going to get in the starting lineup," Vermes continued. "Fitness is something we're going to have to work with him on."
