Kansas City Wizards coach Onalfa upbeat over preseason

Kansas City Head Coach Curt Onalfo is extremely happy with his team's preseason preparations in Mexico. Speaking to the official teams website "It's gone fine," Onalfo said. "I really enjoy playing teams outside the U.S., Latino teams in particular, because they play a little bit differently. They are very technical. They have a little different tactical way of playing the game, which forces our players to make decisions that aren't as predictable when you are in MLS."

With variety being the name of the game, Onalfo continued: "When you go into an MLS game, you have a very in-depth scouting report and a pretty clear picture of what the game is going to look like. In these games, you don't know. So, it forces guys to respond and make decisions on the field that help them progress and become more astute tactically. We've been developing an environment where our players are beginning to understand the game better. So, it's nice to see that they respond well to the comments that we help them with. That is a good sign."
