Kansas City Wizards forward Teal Bunbury has been suspended for one match and fined $250 for an incident stemming from last weekend's clash with San Jose Earthquakes.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee handed down the penalty on Thursday, forcing the 20-year old to miss Saturday's home fixture with New England Revolution.

Bunbury was suspended for knocking Quakes defender Tim Ward to the ground just before a free-kick and even though the incident went unpunished by referee Jason Anno, the league felt it was enough to hand down a one-game penalty to the former adidas Generation player.
