Newcastle United, Portsmouth and Bolton Wanderers had all been linked with the 30-year-old former Tottenham and West Ham striker who has enjoyed two successful seasons with Sevilla.

"I've got two years left on my contract and I'm not planning on moving," he said after scoring the winner in Sevilla's Spanish Cup final success against Getafe on Saturday.

"I've read a lot of things that aren't true. I've had two great seasons here and now we've won another trophy."
