Kane hits hat-trick and takes gloves as ten-man Tottenham hammer Asteras Tripoli

Tottenham have easily beaten Asteras Tripoli 5-1 in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs were led by a Harry Kane hat-trick and a brace from Erik Lamela to go second on the Group C table with a convincing victory over the Greek side.

The match produced some remarkable events highlighted by Lamela's stunning 20-yard 'rabona' strike which saw the Argentine wrap his left foot around his right leg to send the ball into the back of the net in fine fashion.

Tottenham's victory also saw goalkeeper Hugo Lloris sent off in the 87th minute for bringing down Tasos Tsokanis which prompted Pochettino to put treble hero Kane in goal after he had used all three subs.

Jeronimo Barrales pulled back a late consolation for Tripoli but the damage had earlier done with 13th, 75th and 81st minute goals from Kane and 29th and 66th minute strikes from Lamela.

Tottenham now have five points from their three group fixtures which sees them equal with group leaders Besiktas and one ahead of Tripoli ahead of the return but in Greece in early November.
