Manchester United hero Andrei Kanchelskis is pleased to hear Crystal Palace are moving for Spartak Moscow midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

Palace are closing in on a swoop for Bilyaletdinov, who is reportedly available for as little as £1.2m.

Kanchelskis told Izvestia: "If the player has a good offer from England, he should not hesitate to return to the Premier League.

"Crystal Palace is a good club, based in a prestigious area of London.

"Last season the club looked confident even against the league leaders.

"Diniyar is already familiar with the peculiarities of the English league and knows the mentality of local coaches and players. It is one of the best leagues in the world.

"Should he avoid making the same mistake twice? Diniyar is not returning to [David] Moyes.

"Apparently, the coach of the London club [Tony Pulis] has more faith in Russian players."
