Kalou hits brace as Chelsea stroll against Madrid

Chelsea made it three wins out of three in the Champions League group stages as they defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues always looked in control and created plenty of chances against Madrid who had their moments going forward but were always vulnerable at the back.

Salomon Kalou had already missed a couple of glaring opportunities before opening the scoring just before the break then adding a second early in the second half.

Frank Lampard broke his own personal goalscoring drought with a 25 yard drive before Luis Perea headed into his own net to complete a miserable night for the Spaniards.

Atletico had chances but Petr Cech denied Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti was satisfied with he result, telling ITV1: "We played very well for the ninety minutes without too many problems.

"I am happy we are top of the league because that is what we want."
