Kallon in Birmingham for talks

Birmingham City are ready to sign AS Monaco striker Mohammed Kallon.

The Birmingham Mail says Kallon watched Blues defeat Hereford United 2-1 in the Carling Cup at St Andrew's last night from the Main Stand director's box.

The Sierra Leone international is thought to be available on loan with a view to a permanent transfer, and he has been on manager Steve Bruce's shopping list before.

The former Inter Milan ace, 27, joined Monaco in 2004 and was loaned to Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad most recently.
