Spanish side Sevilla have claimed they are on the verge of signing Chelsea winger Gael Kakuta as he gets set to leave Stamford Bridge.

The 24-year-old is out of contract this summer after moving to London in 2007 from French club RC Lens and spent last season on loan to La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.

Sevilla president Jose Castro told their official website: "Kakuta is very close and I think we will be able to confirm it in the next few hours."
