Kaka has cast fresh doubt on his future at AC Milan.
The midfielder has claimed he won't trigger an escape clause in his current deal this summer, but now appears to be performing a U-turn.
He told the Milan Channel: "The market situation is difficult. I think it is part of the Italian culture to talk about the future, but this provokes anxiety.
"It's not enough to say that I will stay. Since I was last here and when I was in Madrid, there have always been market rumours about me.
"I have had my best years at Milan. Between myself, the club and the supporters, there is a great relationship.
"This season I have played a lot and in Madrid I didn't. I'm happy to be a reference point for the young players because they need to understand what it means to wear the Milan jersey."
