Kagawa stars for Man Utd, Son provides Leverkusen assist

Stars of Asian football were in action in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night with varying results for all involved.

Shinji Kagawa was given a rare start by David Moyes and it proved a maserstroke as the Japan international was the catalyst in Manchester United's 4-2 victory over German side Bayer Leverkusen.

The former Borussia Dortmund ace provided the substance of United's attacking threat which was capped off by Wayne Rooney (two goals), Robin van Persie and Antonio Valencia.

Equally threatening for his team, albeit on a much less frequent scale, was supremely talented South Korean striker Heung Min-son who managed to supply skipper Simon Rolfes with Leverkusen's equalising goal in the 54th minute.

Also featuring in that match was Australian winger Robbie Kruse who replaced Sidney Sam in the 78th minute at Old Trafford.

Kagawa's Japan teammate Keisuke Honda was also in European action on Tuesday, playing 90 minutes in CSKA Moscow's 3-0 loss to title holders Bayern Munich.
