Emanuel Giaccherini will complete his move from Juventus to Sunderland this week.
The 28-year old Italy international has linked up with the Black Cats at their preseason training camp in Northern Italy and will now undergo a medical before a £8.5million transfer is complete.
Serie A champions Juventus cannot necessarily assure Giaccherini regular first team football but Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio will have a spot for him on the wing or as an attacking midfielder.
