Juventus have made an opening offer for Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel.

Witsel admitted this week he was in contact with the Champions League finalists.

Tuttosport says Juve have made a bid of €22 million for the Belgium international.

Zenit rate Witsel at closer to €35 million, but Juve GM Beppe Marotta refuses to pay over the odds for the midfielder.

Juve have already signed Palermo striker Paulo Dybala, Empoli defender Daniele Rugani and Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira for next season.
