Juventus struggling to raise cash to land Liverpool's Xabi

Juventus are struggling to meet Liverpool's £16 million asking price for midfielder Xabi Alonso.

La Stampa says Juve have already settled personal terms with Xabi over a four-year deal worth £2.75 million-a-season - a clear £350,000-a-year more than he is currently on at Anfield.

However, Juve are struggling to raise the funds needed to get the deal over the line. The Bianconeri can offer £11 million cash, but that still falls short of Liverpool's valuation and the Italians are battling to find buyers for some of their fringe players to cover the shortfall.
