Juventus striker Carlos Tevez feels Manchester United fans need to "change their mindset".
Tevez was asked about his former club's problems this season.
"We all know that English football is one of the most spectacular in the world. I believe that Manchester City and Chelsea are one step ahead of the others.
"United's struggles? It is hard to replace a Coach like Sir Alex Ferguson, who built up the success of the club for so many years, and it is difficult to maintain certain things, particularly in the first season.
"I think that the club has to adapt, and to change the mindset of the people. It will be difficult to match what Sir Alex Ferguson did."
