Juventus striker Amauri wants to break duck against Palermo

Juventus striker Amauri hopes to break his scoring duck against former club Palermo today.

He said: "I do want to score against Palermo, but I certainly won't celebrate on the pitch like [Parma defender Cristian] Zaccardo did. In this case, I'd rather keep my celebrations for when I get home."

Amauri spent two years with the Rosanero, scoring 23 goals in 52 games between 2006 and 2008, but is still to find the net this season.

"I am relaxed and feel the faith of the club, Coach and teammates. I am not suffering during this 'goal abstinence', nor see it as a crisis. I'm playing well, the only element missing is a goal, but I am confident."

He hopes to find his form in time for a potential 2010 World Cup place in the Italy squad, although his citizenship application will not be complete until March.

"The paperwork has been filed and I am not thinking about the Nazionale right now. But if [Marcello] Lippi were to call me in South Africa, you'd see the best Amauri ever."
