The wife of Juventus striker Amauri has gained her Italian citizenship.

The Brazilian-born marksman is yet to play for his homeland and has been subject to an international tug-of-war.

Amauri's wife Cynthia received Italian citizenship on Tuesday morning in Palermo and will have a passport within a few days.

This gives Amauri the right to apply for his own passport, which would make him eligible for the Azzurri.
