Juventus chiefs are spending today scrambling for a new defensive signing.

Tuttosport says injury to Giorgio Chiellini has forced Juve to return to the market for an emergency signing before the deadline falls today.

Under consideration are Ascoli's 19 year-old centre-half Giuseppe Bellusci and Lecce stopper Andrea Esposito, 22.

Lazio defender Emlison Cribari has been offered to Juve, but coach Claudio Ranieri isn't convinced.
