Juventus president wants Amauri to commit to Italy

Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is urging striker Amauri to pledge his international future to Italy.

“It would be a great shame if a champion like him didn’t become Italian,” said Cobolli Gigli of their Brazilian-born centre-forward.

“Amauri has got better and better with each game for us and is now a real star for Juventus and Italian football.

“We’ve all seen how he plays, how he defends, how he attacks and how good he is through the number of goals he has scored.”
