Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli admits coach Claudio Ranieri's work this season has surprised him.

"He's exceeded my expectations," said Cobolli Gigli after Juve's 1-1 draw with Inter Milan on Sunday. "His decision to bring on Mauro Camoranesi (who netted the equaliser) was timed perfectly and absolutely decisive.

"He and Iaquinta gave new life to the team.

"On Sunday, Juve showed to have more soul than battleship Inter. We could have won. On balance, that would have been the right result."
