Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is the subject of serious interest from Juventus.
The Daily Star says reports in Italy suggest that the Serie A champions are now ready to take advantage of the lack of speed implemented by United boss David Moyes.
Juventus are set to offer Vidic a £4m-a-year salary to leave the Premier League champions and join his former team-mate Carlos Tevez in Turin.
"He is very strong, a really good defender," Tevez told Tuttosport.
"I played with him and against him, when I moved to Manchester City.
"Of course he'd be very suitable for the Italian championship."
