Juventus hope to open talks with Chelsea today for goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini.

The Times says Juventus have concerns about the fitness of Gianluigi Buffon and want to sign an experienced reserve goalkeeper. Alessio Secco, the Juventus sporting director, hopes to make contact today after watching Liverpool against Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final, first leg last night.

Juventus would be prepared to offer Cudicini a medium-term contract if he is willing to take a drop in salary, which is £1.6million a year at present.
