Juventus midfielder Melo cops fans abuse on Brazil return

Brazil fans have hurled abuse at Juventus midfielder Felipe Melo upon touching down in his homeland yesterday.

Melo has refused to apologise or take the blame after he was sent off for stamping on Arjen Robben.

He had also scored the first own goal in Brazil's World Cup history, but FIFA spared his blushes by crediting Wesley Sneijder.

Around 100 fans were at the Tom Jobim airport to welcome the squad at 2am local time and they hurled insults at Melo.

He refused to speak with the media and walked off with bodyguards.
