Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has apologised for his Chile squad controversy.
Vidal was one of a number of players disciplined and expelled from La Roja's camp by Coach Claudio Borghi for turning up late to training.
He said: "My dearest wish is to apologise to everyone, especially to my teammates. I realise the mistake and I hope to clarify it with coach Claudio Borghi and his staff personally.
"I have a professional relationship with them but also one of gratitude and respect. I hope that the pain I caused with my attitude might be fading, just for now I offer my deepest apologies.
"I would like to also apologise to the Juventus fans, who have shown me all their affection even in recent days. I made a mistake and now I expect a just punishment from my federation.
"My hope is to someday go back to wearing the jersey of my country because nothing would make me more happy and proud."
