Juventus legend Zibi Boniek says the club must rally round underfire coach Ciro Ferrara. Boniek believes Ferrara needs full support from the club's board if they're to survive their current crisis.

The Pole said: "Ciro's career resembles so much like Roberto Mancini's, he's suffering in a great team and even at a very powerful club.

"Ferrara had no record of coach from Serie A. So if you choose him, you have to defend him. Remember Ancelotti with Parma. When he first had difficulties, he was protected. Now look at him, after AC Milan, now Chelsea."

Boniek believes Claudio Ranieri, now in charge of Roma, should still be with Juve.

He added: "It was a big mistake by the Bianconeri. He was the victim of an outrageous attack by a newspaper. He was sentenced from the start. It was a premature decision, he had done well, beating even Real.

"After the exit from Turin, he is enjoying a pleasant situation at Roma. And he deserves it."
