Juventus are launching a bid for Roma defender Philippe Mexes.

Tuttosport says after Arsenal defender William Gallas turned them down, that Juventus' attention has now turned to Mexes, who Roma would like to sell, as they intend to replace him with Nicolas Burdisso.

Mexes has a year left on his contract in the capital and Roma are keen to cash in on him while they still can.
