Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon insists they can handle Diego's absence for their Champions League clash with Bordeaux.

Diego will sit out the game with a thigh injury and Buffon said: "Diego is an important player and we'd always like him on the field of play, but a great team can not depend on just one player.

"To be competitive you must have a big squad with many players who are at a good enough level to feature."
