Juventus keeper Buffon unhappy in victory

Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon rapped his teammates after their scratchy 1-0 win over Champions League opponents Maccabi Haifa.

Buffon made two crucial saves as Giorgio Chiellini's header stood as the winner on the night.

"Giving a goalkeeper awards and plaudits means sometimes having to earn it! I hope I proved I deserve all the compliments," said Buffon.

"We wanted the three points at all costs to make up for that home draw with Bordeaux. That was all that counted and how we got there wasn't entirely important at this moment.

"We created numerous scoring opportunities, but it's normal in a Champions League game for the opponents to have a few chances.

"What we really should avoid is giving away those chances at the 93rd minute on a counter from our own corner with the opposition playing with 10 men."

The goalkeeper even revealed a verbal tussle with the officials when they were waiting in the tunnel.

"The referee acted in a very arrogant manner to me and I replied, as I am not the person to do that to. I was worried at a certain point, as I didn't want to be the first captain to be sent off before the game even started, so I calmed down."
