Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon has paid tribute to former club Parma.

Parma have been declared bankrupt.

"Yesterday, the 100-year history of Parma came to an end," Buffon, who began his career with the club, wrote on Facebook.

“To express my affection for the Gialloblu colours again would just be redundant. Still, I can't help but think of the city and the fans, and send a hug to them, while hoping to see the Ducali in Serie A again as soon as possible.

“I love you all, and I'll hold you forever in my heart. Ciao Crociati, see you again soon!"
