Juventus keeper Buffon insists Italy players not over the hill

Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon insists Italy's squad is not over the hill.

The Azzurri lifted the trophy in 2006 and many of the players are still in Marcello Lippi's side heading to South Africa.

"Perhaps we're not the youngest of teams, as quite a few of us took part in the tournament four years ago," confessed the goalkeeper to CNN International.

"In certain competitions experience counts for a lot. On top of that, I don't think there are better players in Italy right now than the ones we have.

"The important thing will be to reach June at our best physical and psychological form."
