Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon was delighted with victory at Champions League opponents Manchester City.

Alvaro Morata and Mario Mandzukic struck the goals for Juve in the 2-1 win.

“We saw the right reaction and that is the first building block of this season," Buffon told Mediaset Premium.

“We put in a strong performance. There was focus, tactical wisdom, determination and technical quality.

“We lacked nothing tonight, but nonetheless, we shouldn't kid ourselves. We have to continue like this. I hope we will, because we deserve it and we have the capability.

“When you win certain games in certain stadiums against an opponent like this, it increases your awareness of what you can really achieve.

“For the younger players in the squad, tonight's victory was very important. The joy, the strength and the adrenaline of games like this helps you grow up exponentially."
