Juventus to install interim boss as path opens for Benitez

Juventus will bring in a caretaker manager for the remainder of the season when they sack current boss Ciro Ferrara.

Ferrara will lose his position by the end of the week and the Old Lady will appoint former player Claudio Gentile on a short-term basis.

This will give the Italians more time to pursue Liverpool's Rafael Benitez who has recently been linked with a move to Turin.

There are a number of factors that could make any dealings difficult including the fact that Benitez signed a five-year deal in March and his high wages could prove tough to match. But the Spaniard has indicated he may leave Anfield if he cannot guide the Reds to a top-four finish this season.
