Alessandro Del Piero has called on his Sydney FC teammates to produce a spark this weekend.

The Sky Blues sit at the foot of the A-League table with six points from eight matches and their star striker wants to put an end to the rot that has seen them lose their past four fixtures.

Del Piero wrote on his own official website that he wants the team to show a bit more against Melbourne Heart on Sunday and has called for the fans to come out in their droves and get behind the flailing team.

"We've started a very important week of trainings and, probably, it's even more significant than all the previous ones," he wrote.

"The importance of our actions from today onwards is based on the far from easy period we are going through...so we have to show that we can manage it.

"Being every day in the locker room, I know that we have enough will and determination to reverse the trend.

"We need a sparkle, we need to believe, we shouldn't give up. I'm absolutely sure that we can make it, this group is strong and we just need to work and try without any fear. The results will come for sure!"
