Alessandro Del Piero's proposed move to A-League club Sydney FC is under a slight cloud following comments from his agent.

The former Juventus star is being heavily linked with the Sky Blues to become their new marquee man with suggestions that a deal had been finalised late last week.

But Del Piero's agent and brother, Stefano, told Italian news agency ANSA that nothing had yet been concluded.

"Obviously things were misinterpreted," Stefano Del Piero said.

"It's a serious offer but that doesn't mean everything's decided."
