Sydney FC star Alessandro Del Piero is of the belief that Lucas Neill is doing fine after his altercation with supporters on Tuesday night.
The Australian national team captain was seen shouting abuse at a small section of the fans at Allianz Stadium during the Socceroos' 1-0 win over Costa Rica after they had jeered him throughout.
But Juventus icon Del Piero suggests the Omiya Ardija defender would be accepting of the incident, especially if sat down for a beer with the disgruntled fans.
"Lucas for sure feels the pressure of the moment because he's captain," said the former Juve skipper.
"The Socceroos changed coach a few weeks ago and they have to prepare in a short period for the World Cup with a new coach. It's not an easy moment and I think that's why something like that happened.
"I think Lucas is OK now and so are the fans. Maybe they should go share a beer together."
