Juventus GM Beppe Marotta admits injury problems saw Arturo Vidal miss out on a summer move to Manchester United.

The Chile midfielder has struggled with knee problems this year.

"The injury influenced his departure, even now he doesn't have the best physical condition," Marotta told TMW.

"For our part, however, there is the clear desire to keep him because we renewed his contract."
