Juventus GM Beppe Marotta says there was no pressure from management for Cristiano Ronaldo to attend last night's UEFA awards ceremony.
Ronaldo skipped the gala amid claims he was upset being snubbed for the UEFA Best Player gong in preference to former Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric.
Asked about the Portuguese's absence, Marotta stated: "He stayed at home.
"It was a personal choice and I do not add anything else."
Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, branded the decision to give the award to Modric as "ridiculous".
