Juventus GM Beppe Marotta is considering a shock move for AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo. La Stampa says Marotta is discussing the prospect of signing the 31 year-old with his staff - including Pavel Nedved.
Pirlo is currently recovering from a knee injury and has opened talks about a new deal at Milan.
Marotta is convinced he can land the playmaker on a free transfer and is encouraged by Pirlo's unhappiness with terms offered by Milan.
Milan have had a €3.5 million-a-year deal rejected by Pirlo, who is currently on a salary of €5.8 million.
Marotta hopes to use the money saved on a transfer fee to top up his wages offer to Pirlo's management.
