Juventus GM Beppe Marotta says any deal for PSG midfielder Blaise Matuidi is now off.

Matuidi was expected to join Juve last week.

“Nothing in particular happened," Marotta told Mediaset Premium. “We asked for Matuidi and PSG politely told us he was not on the market.

“These things happen. I think the issue is concluded, as they made a pretty explicit statement. For now it's safe to say it's over, but I have to underline how difficult it is to find players who suit our needs.

“I also wish to point out how Kwadwo Asamoah is a rediscovered player."
