Juventus GM Beppe Marotta says coach Antonio Conte was behind the axing of Paul Pogba for their win over Pescara.
The former Manchester United junior was dropped for arriving late for two training sessions.
"There are some rules to be respected and the leader of the group, who is Antonio Conte, decided on this course of action. It is not punishment, but rather educational for a young player like Pogba," said Marotta.
Pogba's agent had bitterly criticised the club and suggested Conte was "unable" to handle a team at the highest level.
"Juventus are perfectly capable of making their own decisions for their players. Raiola does not know the situation."
