Juventus GM Beppe Marotta has held positive talks with the minders of departing Arsenal defender William Gallas.

The Gunners confirmed the release of the French veteran last week over a disagreement regarding his new contract.

Turin sources say Juve GM Beppe Marotta met with Gallas' agent, Etienne Mendy, yesterday to thrash out terms over a deal for the France international.

Marotta emerged from the meeting convinced of an agreement over a two-year contract worth €3 million-a-year.
