Juventus fear Man City will bid big for Dzeko

Juventus fear missing out on Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko to Manchester City. The Daily Mail says City and Juve went toe-to-toe all summer in their attempts to snare Bosnia striker Dzeko, but Wolfsburg set a price tag so high that even the big-spending Barclays Premier League club turned to other options.

Roberto Mancini remains interested in the 6ft 3in striker, however, and may make a new move in January - particularly with the futures of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz up in the air.

Dzeko is keen on a new challenge and has done his best to stay in the shop window by scoring five goals in seven appearances already this season.

He has previously spoken of a desire to join AC Milan and Italy is an attractive option for the 24-year-old, but City's money can blow Juve out of the water.

Mancini also has the advantage of his club finally looking like becoming a major force in Europe, while Juve's decline has been underlined by just two wins in six Serie A games this season.
