Fox Sports European correspondent Daniel Garb was recently in Italy and suggests that fans of the Serie A club have started to follow the Sky Blues now that the Bianconeri legend is strutting his stuff in the A-League.
"They follow it very closely," Garb said told Fox Sports.
"The interest in Del Piero is immense. He's still the absolute No.1 man in Turin. That hasn't waned at all.
"They watch every single Sydney game - even though they're on early in the morning generally. They certainly watch the highlights, they're all over the papers, people are talking about it.
"There are Del Piero (Sydney FC) shirts at every single stand - not exactly official merchandise - but there are tonnes of stands outside the ground and each one has a Del Piero-Sydney FC No.10 shirt.
"And I saw plenty of people buying them, wearing them proudly.
"The coverage and exposure for Sydney FC, in terms of one of the great teams in world football, is phenomenal."
