Manchester United are eyeing Roma defender Philippe Mexes. Leggo says Mexes, now inside the final 18 months of his current deal, is set to be sold by Roma at the end of the season.

Juventus have come forward with a swap offer including Paolo de Ceglie and Luca Marrone. The Bianconeri are also willing to put €12 million cash on the table.

AC Milan and United are also interested, with Roma rating Mexes at €15 million.

Like their previous sales of Cristian Chivu (Inter Milan) and Alberto Aquilani (Liverpool), Roma need a big-name departure to balance the books and will cash-in on Mexes, who has now dropped to third-choice centre-half under coach Claudio Ranieri.
