Juventus director Pavel Nedved has revealed crunch talks with Paul Pogba ahead of his summer move to Manchester United.

Nedved had a private meal with Pogba earlier on during his spell in Italy.

He recalled to Idnes: “When he started at Juve, he had a good year.

“With Paul, we have the same manager Mino Raiola, so we used to be very close.

“I went with him to dinner and told him what he should do differently, how he should train.

“I told him 'play simple and you will be king. Do more, work more. And if you only get one golden ball, it will be a failure.

“He's a boy who wants to be the best."

On the amount Mourinho paid Juventus for Pogba, Nedved added: “I wished [he could have stayed], but he could not say no.

“It just could not be refused. It was a crazy package."
