Juventus defender Chiellini unhappy with union interference over new contract

Giorgio Chiellini is unhappy with the Italian Players' Association questioning his new deal with Juventus.

Chiellini has responded by suggesting the comments by AIC vice-president Leandro Grosso regarding his contract were inappropriate.

"The renewal of my contract has generated a number of comments and news that I consider inappropriate," the player stated through his official website.

"I will say I have personally always supported the players' association and my contract is one that takes into account the complexity of the relationship between clubs and players in Serie A.

"It should not be read as a statement of position in relation to recent discussions of current sports policy. I hope that my contract will facilitate dialogue on the new collective bargaining agreement."
