Juventus centre-half Giorgio Chiellini is prepared to play at left-back for coach Antonio Conte.
The centre-back was used in his old role against AC Milan on Sunday night and impressed in the 2-0 victory.
"We spoke about it on Friday," the Italian international revealed. "Paolo De Ceglie wasn't in great shape and [centre-back] Leonardo Bonucci has been working hard in training.
"Moreover, our Coach wanted particular physical qualities on the pitch so we therefore tried this solution.
"It can be an extra weapon for the whole team.
"For example, in the last two games, we played with Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Claudio Marchisio, whilst in the two first matches we were differently placed on the field.
"Similarly, my displacement to the left can be another string to our tactician's bow."
