Wolfsburg defender Andrea Barzagli was undergoing a Juventus medical last night.
Juve confirmed the developments in the evening.
The 29-year-old Italy international is expected to pen a contract with the Old Lady and return to Serie A following a three-year stint in Germany.
It is understood Barzagli will sign a two-and-a-half-year deal at the Turin-based club until the summer of 2013.
Centre-half Barzagli joined Wolfsburg from Palermo back in 2008 and is expected to provide Juve with back-up for Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.
He was part of Italy's World Cup-winning squad of 2006 and has had previous spells at Ascoli and Chievo as well as Rondinella and Pistoiese.
